All Chemistry degree programs are taught in German. A profound knowledge of the German language is therefore required.
German language courses are offered by the University of Wuppertal. If you are interested in our study programs, we recommend to contact the International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt).

Our bachelor programs

The chemistry and biology faculty offers excellent bachelor-level training. Our focus is on a broad and solid transfer of specialist knowledge and the acquisition of practical skills. In addition to bachelor's / master's degrees, it is also possible to acquire a state examination in food chemistry. The University of Wuppertal is characterized by small study groups, short distances and an exceptionally favorable supervisory relationship between lecturers and students.

Our teacher study programs

The teacher study programs in chemistry and biology combine subject-specific teaching content with subject didactics and educational sciences. Our Didactics of Chemistry and Biology are characterized by dedicated school laboratories and innovative teaching concepts. With the M. Ed. We are the only German location to offer bilingual teaching an undergraduate master’s degree with a bilingual focus, in which the natural sciences are also represented.

Information for applicants (summer term 2024)

The application period for the courses in our department has started on December 18th, 2023.

The application deadline for all courses with restricted admission normally ends on January 15th, 2024. This does not affect the courses of study offered by the Department of Chemistry and Biology.

You can register for non-admission courses via the application portal „StudiLöwe“ by April 15, 2024. Further information on our application terms is provided on the website of the Student Registration Office (Studierendensekretariat) and the International Office.
